Loox vs. Okendo vs. Social Snowball: Which Advocacy Tool Fits?

September 22, 2026

Loox, Okendo, and Social Snowball are often shortlisted together, which is odd, because they do three different jobs. Pick based on which one matches your bottleneck, not on feature counts.

All three details below come from their current Shopify App Store listings.

Loox: visual reviews on the product page

Loox collects and displays photo and video product reviews. Its listing carries a 4.9 rating from roughly 9,600 reviews, offers a free plan and a free trial, and is marked Built for Shopify. It automates review requests by email, SMS, WhatsApp and QR code, times them on delivery data, and can offer a discount as an incentive for a photo or video review.

Best fit: your product pages lack proof and shoppers hesitate on fit, quality, or results.

Keep in mind: a review lives on your site. It is not distributed to the customer's own audience, so it will not generate reach.

Okendo: a connected suite, not a single tool

Okendo bundles five connected products — reviews, loyalty, surveys, quizzes, and referrals — into one platform, with a 4.8 rating from roughly 1,400 reviews and a free plan available. The pitch is consolidation: one subscription and one customer profile instead of four apps that do not talk to each other.

Best fit: you already run several customer programs and the overhead of separate tools and disconnected data is the actual problem.

Keep in mind: a suite is only cheaper if you use more than one module. If you need reviews alone, you are comparing it against dedicated tools on the review experience itself.

Social Snowball: affiliates, referrals, and creator programs

Social Snowball — listed as "Snowball: Affiliate Marketing" — automates affiliate, referral, and influencer programs. It can enroll customers as affiliates automatically at purchase, handles tracking, payouts and tax forms, protects against discount-code leaks, and saves creator mentions. Its listing shows a 4.5 rating from around 208 reviews and pricing from $249 per month.

Best fit: customers already recommend you and you want that tracked, paid, and scaled.

Keep in mind: the entry price makes it a commitment rather than an experiment, and a tracked referral sale is a different outcome from a good piece of content.

Which one?

Reviews problem: Loox. Too many disconnected programs: Okendo. Untracked word of mouth: Social Snowball. Ratings and pricing change, so confirm on the listing before you commit.

The gap all three leave

Each of these engages the customer after the sale, when attention has moved on. The alternative is to make the ask at checkout, while the shopper is still deciding: a lower Creator Price in exchange for an agreed post. The brand sets the terms, the shopper accepts them before paying, and the obligation is attached to a purchase that already happened.

That is the model described in what Disclout is, and you can see the checkout flow here. It is not a replacement for product-page reviews; it addresses reach and ad creative, which reviews do not.
